Marilyn Wood is an Orff-Schulwerk specialist, composer, arranger, music educator, and university professor. Marilyn holds the Master of Music Education degree from the University of North Texas, the Bachelor of Music Education degree from Oklahoma Baptist University, and is certified in Orff-Schulwerk through the Master Class level from the University of Memphis.

Marilyn has presented workshop sessions at the Music Teachers National Association’s national convention and at five National Orff-Schulwerk conferences as well as workshops across the country on subjects including children’s choirs, preschool music, and the Orff-Schulwerk approach. Her articles appear in a variety of music publications, most of them emphasizing the development of the singing voice and part singing with children.

Currently, Marilyn is on the faculty at Middle Tennessee State University where she teaches musicianship classes for recording engineering students. Since 1992 Marilyn has been teaching summer Orff-Schulwerk certification courses (Levels I and II) at universities across the country.
